Beloved heart friends:
How do you take a year of love and service, wrap it up neatly, tie a bow around it and say, "This is what we accomplished this year."
I don't know about you, but I have felt as though I have lived a thousand lifetimes during 2023!
This decade has pushed us all to the outer limits of what we thought was possible. I feel utterly reborn.
And here we are.
Again and again, we suit up; we show up; we open our hearts wide, holding tight to one another other as we collectively embrace our world.
Why does Living Only Love Sanctuary work so well?
It is because we have each other. And as such, our little spiritual community has a warmth and tenderness that I have never felt from anywhere else in the world.
It is our shared love for this planet and all her inhabitants which inspires us all to keep doing as much as we can and to give more.
What we have cultivated together is sacred. Love has transformed us and continues to do so.
I believe that the work that we do together is truly soulful.
Our accomplishments in 2023 have been extraordinary:
- We have prepared over 500 meals for the residents of Family Gateway.
- We provided Christmas for the residents of Family Gateway which included:
- 6 bags of winter sets, ages newborn through adult, for both males and females.
- 105 toys for children under 12
- 21 Walmart gift cards and 10 gas cards.
- Over $500.00 worth of diapers and baby needs from a generous supporter of the Sanctuary.
- We have prepared 24 move-in kits for residents of Family Gateway, delivering two a month as families transition from the shelter into their independent living.
- We have created and distributed 200 backpacks for those living on the streets in the metroplex.
- We have sponsored the education of 4 precious little girls in Nepal, paying for all of their school costs for a year.
- We have provided food every day for an entire year for 12 children through Feed My Starving Children.
- We have financially supported the Dallas and Tarrant County Food banks.
- We have adopted two nests of sea turtles in South Padre Island. It has been our joy to support the protection and conservation of the world’s rarest species of sea turtle: the Kemp's Ridley sea turtle.
- We have made sizable contributions to the Water Mission to support clean water initiatives in the Ukraine as well as The Navajo Water Project.
- We have been responsible for the planting of over 1,000 trees through the Trillion Trees project and Texas Trees Foundation.
- We have each made green pledges to reduce reuse and conserve our earth's resources.
And our work continues.
Not only will we continue with the above-mentioned projects, we have also added the following commitments to love and serve in 2024:
- $100 a month to Salvation Army North Texas, $50 each going to support the operations of the Dallas and the Fort Worth shelters
- $50 a month to the ASPCA
- $107 a month to the Trillion Trees Campaign and Bird Life International
- $50 a month to the Texas Trees Foundation of Dallas
- $100 a month to Embracing the World, Amma’s humanitarian efforts around the world to alleviate the burden of the world’s poor with food, shelter, healthcare, education and livelihood.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for helping us make miracles a reality for so many.
The impact of our collective expression is exponentially greater than the sum of our individual contributions. Together, we move mountains.
With God and a heart full of love, all things are indeed possible.
In Loving Service,
pelkyong
